Japan Club Makes Comeback
After resurfacing during the 2017-2018 school year, Kamehameha’s Japan Club hosts a group of students interested in Japanese culture and language. This school year, club members endeavor to make a name for themselves.
Responsible for this is senior president Katelyn Pang. Pang began the club in her junior year as she “developed a passion for Japanese culture and language, and decided that I’d be willing to take on the responsibility of starting the club again.” With the help of some fellow students that share her passion, the club resurfaced.
The primary goal of the club is to plan a trip to Japan. Anyone can join, but the majority of the club is enrolled in the Japanese language class.
The Japan Club will be fundraising on campus with TasteTea starting Nov. 13.
Hi.
I’m Gisella Kahapea and I am a senior and I got into Kamehameha Schools Kapalama in the 9th grade and I was a mess. About 3 years later, and I’m still a mess. I have literally done nothing my high school career, but Ka Mō’i was the light to my high school
resume. I knew we had a school newspaper, but I’ve never been that interested in it, until Mr. Barona heard me gossiping in class and recommended I take it. I mean, who ever said gossiping was a bad thing? Though Im new to this world of journalism, I’m hoping
Ka Mō’i will help me make my last year the best year yet!
