Hamilton Keola, Opinions/A&E Editor
Aloha! My name is Hamilton and I am the Opinions/A&E Editor this 2017-2018 school year for Ka Mōʻī. Sadly, this will be my second and last year on staff. Coming into Ka Mōʻī last year, I was a bit anxious knowing that my writing skills were not that well developed, but I have come a long way. Having Mr. Barona as both my English 11 teacher and newspaper advisor, I was able to not only improve my grammar, but also find a passion in writing. I’ve made new friendships with people who I’m glad to call my “publication fam,” and we’ve been able to take both newspaper and yearbook to soaring heights. Last year, a selected few including myself was fortunate enough to attend the National Journalism Convention in Seattle. Looking forward to this year, the editors and I hope to get Ka Mōʻī winning awards again.
Besides stuffing my face in the publications room eating Cup of Noodle while working on layout most of the time, you can also find me involved in student government and KEY club. I want to represent students the best way I can, while making the most positive change for them. Reguarding my college plans, I would either like to major in either Business or Communications. But for now, I just want to take advantange of every second I have left on “the hill.”
P.S. I also work at Jamba Juice so feel free to stop by Ewa Town Center for a free smoothie
