Amazing Athletes: Maui Robins
Kamehameha Volleyball Player commits to playing volleyball at The University of Portland.
Maui Robins a senior at KSK has her college plans all figured out. “I committed to University of Portland in Oregon. I chose this college because there are many locals there within the volleyball program.” said Robins. Diversity was something that was important to her and UP shows this a lot through their college and volleyball program.
Her main motivation for athletics is paying for college so she would be able to help her family out. Robins said, “Volleyball is also a big thing in my family and I love making them proud and playing for them.”
Some of her major highlights include making varsity as a freshman, winning states her sophomore and senior year along with winning ILH champs during the short Covid-19 season her junior year. Additionally, she won Gatorade Player of the Year her junior year. Moving forward her goal is to stay active even after her volleyball career.
At UP she plans to major in psychology. “I want to learn how the human mind works and thinks and use that to help people understand themselves,” said Robins.
