Warriors Remain Confident Going into Punahou Game
Last Friday’s football game against Saint Louis showed that there is still room for improvement for our Warriors. With many players out due to injury, both the offense and defense struggled against the second ranked St. Louis team. Despite the disappointing score, prior successes from pre-season wins provide hope in our ability to come forth later in the season.
After coming off of a dominant win against California team, Carson City, the Warriors looked to continue their undefeated preseason record. With this victory over Carson and two other preseason wins, we remain confident going into Saturday’s game against Punahou.
My name is Marc Holmberg, I’m a junior here at Kamehameha and have been attending since fourth grade. I was born and raised in the north shore in Waialua. I joined Ka Mōʻī because I was recommended for it, and it would be a unique trait to have when applying for college (I wasted away my first two years of high school and I want to use my junior and senior years to be as involved as possible). And my middle name is Stewart.
Hello! My name is Emma. I am currently addmiting school as a junior. I live in Waiʻanae and I was accepted into Kamehameha my 6th grade year off the waiting list. I enjoy things like watching football and spending time with my family and boyfriend. My favorite NFL football team is the Oakland Raiders and my favorite college football team is Oregon Ducks. My favorite things to do when I am not busy is reading and writing. I love to read genres such as mystery, thriller, and fantasy. When I write, I focus more on poetic works and creative stories.
I am Keanu Rowe and I live in Nuʻuanu. This is my second year at Ka Mōʻī and I hope to build upon the foundation that was laid last year. Last year was special in the fact that I was introduced to the world of journalism for the first time. This year already has the makings to be just as awesome! I look forward to working with the new staff, pursuing the truth, and doing my best to help Ka Mōʻī in any way possible. I hope to get involved in the world of politics one day and journalism can provide with with pivotal skills needed for that field.

I’m very extroverted, and a social butterfly. I joined Ka Mōʻī because I really like to talk to people and would love to improve my writing abilities. Also, I like the fact that it gives people a chance to share their opinion. This year I am also in advanced theater so come to the school plays!
Hi, my name is JP Newmann, I’m a senior at Kamehameha and I’m from Kailua, Oʻahu. This is my first year as a staff reporter for Ka Mōʻī, and I decided to join in my senior year because I’ve always had a passion for writing and an interest in current events (hence my curiosity in pursuing journalism and in joining the school newspaper). Aside from my academics, I play Varsity Golf for the school team, and on weekends I really enjoy spending some time in the ocean. My aspirations for this year in Ka Mōʻī is to give the reader a high-quality school newspaper and to write meaningful stories that interest the students and faculty of Kamehameha Kapālama.
Hey, my name is Nick Wong and this is my first year on the Ka Mōʻī staff. As editor of Ka Mōʻī’s online content, my focus for the year is to tell authentic stories through highly engaging content that represents the students and stories of Kamehameha Schools Kapālama. Aside from school work and volleyball I do freelance web development for local businesses in Honolulu. Check out my portfolio at http://nickwong.io. Aloha!
