Sleigh It Ain’t So! Starbucks’ Holiday Specials Have Finally Arrived!
It’s tiiiimmmeeee! Ladies and gentlemen, the Mariah Carey season has officially begun, meaning that you need to go and grab yourself a festive Starbucks seasonal drink, as well as a cute Christmas pastry to go with it. If you’re unfamiliar, Starbucks is known for releasing their annual specialized menus to celebrate the beginning of both the fall and winter seasons. As a result, millions of people head over to their local Starbucks to acquire a cheerful red cup of goodness and feel the joyful spirit of the holidays.
Now, you may be wondering… what are in these drinks? Let me give you the run-down of a couple of my go-to favorites. First, we have the beloved Peppermint Mocha, which has been the hype for the past 20 winters and is made up of warm milk, mocha sauce, and peppermint syrup, all topped off with whipped cream and chocolate morsels. Next up, the Caramel Brulée Latte, composed of espresso, warm milk, and sweet caramel brulée sauce, topped with whipped cream and of course, caramel brulée flakes. Recently, I tried the Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte, and personally, it tastes a little too similar to a regular iced coffee for me, but maybe this one is the right fit for you!
A fan-favorite sweet that you must try is the Reindeer Cake Pop, which is a vanilla cake pop with chocolate icing, topped with a decorative red nose and antlers. If you’re looking for something a little more filling, the Sugar Plum Cheese Danish is the way to go, with its cream cheese custard and sugar plum jelly on top.
Everything is in pepper-mint condition down at your local Starbucks, so make sure you head on over and treat yourself this Christmas. If not, yule be sorry!

Hey everyone!! My name is Terina, and this is my first year being a part of Ka Mōʻī. I used to be a border from Hawai'i Island, but now live in Kaneohe. I am currently a senior and I am excited to spend my last year on campus working to build the best newspaper for all of you! Something that takes up my life outside of school is Subway, which is where I work when I'm not busy with homework. My post-high plans are to attend college on the East Coast (hopefully in Massachusetts, New York, or Chicago!) and major in Broadcast and Digital Journalism. Although it is frequently changing, my dream career would be anything from a Reporter to a traveling Journalist. I feel that through this class, I will strengthen my passion for writing and get a realistic feel for what these careers could provide for me. Hope that this year is amazing for everyone!
